About

A small story from Kufstein.

How a traditional dish from southeastern Anatolia found its way to the Tyrolean old town, and why it's been impossible to imagine the place without it ever since.

Our concept

Authentic vegan food with quality ingredients.

At Onnumara everything revolves around one specialty: Çiğköfte. The plant-based version that's been beloved in Turkey for decades, prepared here in Kufstein in exactly that tradition.

Our bulgur comes with tomato paste, pomegranate and a blend of more than a dozen spices. Add lavash, fresh vegetables, salad and matching sauces. The focus is on quality ingredients and a clean, spicy flavor.

Frequently asked

What you should know about Çiğköfte.

The questions we get asked most often.

What is Çiğköfte?
Çiğköfte literally translates to "raw meatball," but it's not actually raw food. The main ingredient, bulgur, is pre-cooked, then carefully mixed with tomato paste, pomegranate syrup and a secret spice blend. The result is an intensely seasoned, slightly sweet-and-sour specialty from southeastern Anatolia.
Is Çiğköfte vegan?
Yes, our Çiğköfte is 100% plant-based. Bulgur, fresh herbs, tomato paste, spices and pomegranate syrup. No meat, no dairy, no eggs.
What's the best way to eat Çiğköfte?
Classically rolled in lavash (thin flatbread) with lettuce, fresh vegetables and a squeeze of lemon. We serve it as a wrap, bowl, set for several people, or a family set to share.
How many calories does Çiğköfte have?
About 200–250 calories per 100 grams. High in fiber thanks to the bulgur and low in fat. A light but satisfying snack.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Çiğköfte contains bulgur (wheat), so it's not gluten-free. Our bowls can be prepared without lavash and on a rice base on request. Just ask us.
Can I pre-order or make a reservation?
Online orders work anytime via our ordering page. For larger sets (family set, catering) it's best to call us a bit in advance: +43 660 970 10 10.
Where does Çiğköfte come from?
From Şanlıurfa and the wider southeastern Anatolia region of Turkey. There, Çiğköfte is a fixture of the food culture and is traditionally prepared together in good company.
